Rigby Group sets out sustainability goals with launch of Project Sequoia confirming NetZero goal of 2040

Rigby Group has launched Project Sequoia to give added focus to the Group’s sustainability efforts and to track progress as the Group has set a target to achieve NetZero by 2040 across its diverse portfolio, which includes IT services, investments, airports, commercial and retail real estate and hotels.  Sustainability is a priority for us all and Rigby Group, as a family business, built on the Rigby family’s values has always taken its societal and environmental responsibilities very seriously, and this latest development confirms that commitment.

The Project is split onto four parts, Principles, Planet, People and Prosperity – which covers all ESG endeavours. The name Sequoia was selected because these great trees represent longevity, they flourish because of the root connections they build and are critical to the whole ecosystem for the diversity of life they support.

Paul Southall, Head of Sustainability and Projects at Rigby Group said:

“Across the Group’s diverse portfolio we have already achieved a great deal, but we recognise the scale of the task that lies before us if we are to achieve our NetZero 2040 target. Project Sequoia will help us track our progress at Group level and keep our many internal and external stakeholders updated, giving a vehicle to help us achieve our collective sustainability goals.

We would like to thank all our employees, customers and partners for the part they have played in supporting our ESG endeavours to date and we look forward to achieving many more positive outcomes in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.”

The Group’s first annual ESG report will be published later this year, providing more detail on our progress to date and our plans going forward.
