Rigby Group Financial Controller Mark Nutter will take the role of Rigby Group Companies’ Finance Director from 3 September 2018 with recruitment of a new financial controller for Rigby Group and team of capable finance professionals to support him.
From September, Mark will have responsibility for all group companies except SCC, where Peter Whitfield will lead Finance – reporting to James Rigby. Mark will continue to be responsible for Rigby Group level financial activities and will work with the divisional finance directors to develop a stronger, value-adding and more integrated finance function. Tax, under Harinder Bindra, Treasury under Nick Clarkson, RG Internal Audit under Warren Lea, and IT under David Matthews (the new RG IT Manager) will also report to Mark. He will also oversee Rigby Group HR with support from Lisa Redding.
Baljit Chohan will join Rigby Group in early September as Head of Corporate and General Counsel. Baljit joins from Gowling WLG where he has led the Rigby Group relationship for the past decade as a long standing Gowlings corporate partner. Baljit brings with him with significant knowledge of Rigby Group and will have a wide remit within the business, responsible for all external legal and other professional advisor relationships. He will also lead on risk management, company secretariat, governance and family matters, as well as providing general counsel legal support.
Edouard Carlone will continue to lead the Mergers & Acquisition origination and will work with Baljit on execution. The Rigby investment business continues to thrive and Edouard, working along with Arnaud de Sevigny, will lead this business. Edouard will also help in shaping a new part to his role helping devise the future group strategy and reviewing Rigby Group’s existing business against their market peers and competitors. The new team will be based at a new 2,000 sq. ft. office in Stratford, with Edouard continuing to be based in London.
